Hi, I am Leonard Crider, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering virtual therapy across Louisiana for teens 16 and up and adults. I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and men's mental health, including men who have never had a real space to talk about what they are carrying. I also provide LGBTQ+ affirming care for clients who want a therapist who understands their world without needing every detail explained.
I use a blend of CBT, DBT, Schema Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Art Therapy, not because a long list sounds impressive, but because no single approach fits everyone. Some sessions center on concrete coping tools you can use right away. Others dig into long standing patterns or slow down to notice what your body is telling you before your mind catches up. Together we decide what makes sense for you, session by session.
In our first session, we focus on getting oriented. I will ask what brought you in, what has or has not helped before, and what you hope will feel different in six months. From there we build a plan together that fits your life. I will be direct, bring humor when it helps, and I will not hand you a generic worksheet and call it therapy. At times you may have simple homework, always tied to your goals and at a pace that feels workable.
