Great to meet you!

Leonor F. Vazquez, PMHNP-BC Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Welcome! I’m Leonor F. Vazquez, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in psychiatric care since 2018. I provide compassionate, individualized mental health care primarily to adults ages 18 and older.

I treat a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, generalized and social anxiety disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, psychosis, borderline personality disorder, and sleep disorders.

My approach goes beyond prescribing medication. I believe meaningful mental health care begins with listening, understanding your story, and seeing you as a whole person—not simply as a diagnosis. I combine evidence-based psychiatric evaluation and medication management with therapeutic support when appropriate, creating an individualized treatment plan based on your needs, strengths, concerns, and goals.

My priority is for you to feel heard, respected, supported, and never judged. Your voice matters, and I want you to be an active participant in your treatment.

My goal is not only to help reduce symptoms, but also to help you achieve greater stability, improve your daily functioning, and build a meaningful and fulfilling life.

A mental health diagnosis does not define you or determine what you can achieve. I genuinely care about the people I serve and strive to create a safe, trusting relationship where we can work together toward positive change.

You are more than a diagnosis. You have a story, strengths, goals, and possibilities. I would be honored to support you on your journey toward better mental health and a better quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, patient-centered, and individualized. I believe effective mental health treatment begins with listening and understanding the whole person—not simply treating a diagnosis or prescribing medication.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where my patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable expressing their concerns. I work collaboratively with each patient to develop a treatment plan that considers their symptoms, personal needs, strengths, lifestyle, and goals.

When appropriate, I combine evidence-based medication management with therapeutic support and education. My goal goes beyond symptom relief; I want to help my patients achieve emotional stability, improve daily functioning, build confidence, and create a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Your diagnosis does not define you. I believe in treating the person behind the diagnosis and building a trusting partnership that supports long-term progress, independence, and a better quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you have the opportunity to share your story and concerns at your own pace. My priority is to listen and understand what you are experiencing, what has brought you to seek care, and what you hope to achieve through treatment.

We will review your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, medications, lifestyle, and any previous treatments, while also discussing your strengths, challenges, and personal goals. I encourage questions and want you to feel comfortable being actively involved in every decision regarding your care.

Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, therapeutic support, education, and practical strategies based on your specific needs.

Most importantly, I want you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, supported, and hopeful about the path forward.
