My name is Leslie Dahl, and I am a license professional counselor licensed in the state of Texas. I have a passion for working with clients who have experienced or continue to struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, substance use, and grief. The majority of my clinical experience has been working with clients in their mid-to-late teens through early adulthood, however I look forward to working with clients of any age, population, and background.
I have experience working with clients from a wide array of backgrounds. I have had the opportunity to work in the outpatient treatment setting, as well as in community health, private practice, and in public school settings. I work primarily from person centered and solution focused therapy approaches.
My greatest strength as a counselor is being able to sit with my client when difficult situations or emotions arise and provide a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming environment. Clients can expect me to honor my relationship with them and meet them where they are currently in their life's journey.
During our first session I’ll perform a clinical intake assessment. This sounds a lot scarier than it really is! You can expect us to spend time talking about the things that are motivating you to start therapy, concerns that you might have, and any past history that might be relevant to your treatment. In this session you and I will work together to set goals for your treatment. Goals can change, and we will periodically check in to see if any adjustments need to be made to your therapy goals.
