Great to meet you!

Since my first entry level mental health job in 1998, I have been seeking to learn how to help people in the most effective, therapeutic way toward their goals for increased mental health. I completed my masters degree in Counseling Psychology in 2000 and have been a licensed counselor since 2004 working with adults in outpatient mental health care. I took a few years off to be a stay at home mom keeping up with yearly training requirements and have 18 years experience working as a therapist.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, empowering, creative, and practical by using varied approaches to partner with you and find a path forward. To assist your therapeutic progress, I utilize Somatic Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping, IFS parts work, mindfulness-based techniques, ACT, CBT, narrative therapy, and a neuroscience-informed understanding of how the body works. When you understand what your body/thoughts/feelings are telling you, we can gain access to understand your experience and modify what is not working.

What you can expect from me

I create a down to earth, emotionally safe environment where we meet to talk about what brings you to therapy now. We will agree on a treatment plan to orchestrate increased overall health and contentment. You will have areas of focus and tailored homework between sessions (like practices to try etc.) as we begin the process toward your next step to greater mental health.
