Great to meet you!

I bring depth and openness to my work, honoring the unique experiences and perspectives of each person I encounter. For the past decade I have worked with clients exploring relationships, communication, self-awareness and the patterns that shape how we connect with self and others. My path to psychotherapy has been varied and enriching. I earned my BA in Sociology and Women's Studies from UCLA and my MA in Psychology in 1991, followed by decades of diverse professional and artistic experiences before returning to the counseling field in 2017. This broader life experience informs my work and my creative approach to the therapeutic process.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered, direct, creative and curious. My orientation is cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and I incorporate body-centered/somatic awareness in order to support staying grounded in your thoughts and feelings. I use a trauma-informed lens while addressing symptoms that are impacting your personal progress and relational experiences.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together we will explore what brings you to therapy along with past experiences, hopes and needs that can help me better understand you and your history. We will begin building a collaborative relationship grounded in trust, respect and openness. I'll share a little bit about my therapeutic style and what you can expect from working together. I'll be interested in learning what has felt helpful or meaningful in your previous therapy experiences and together we'll begin to identify your goals and what inspires you.
