Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Leslie Johana Southall, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I have been a social worker since 2015 and am passionate about supporting clients as they work toward healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being.

I believe that every person deserves a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to share their story. My goal is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, self-esteem issues, and emotional regulation difficulties. I use a client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach while incorporating evidence-based interventions tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.

Whether you're facing a difficult season, feeling overwhelmed, or simply seeking personal growth, I am committed to meeting you where you are and helping you develop the skills and confidence needed to move forward. Together, we will identify your strengths, build healthy coping strategies, and work toward creating a life that aligns with your values and goals.

I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and wellness.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I believe each person is the expert on their own life, and I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I integrate evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, to help clients develop practical coping skills, build resilience, improve emotional well-being, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. I tailor treatment to each client's unique needs, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to have questions or feel a little nervous. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable being yourself.

During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another. I'll ask questions about what brought you to therapy, your personal history, current concerns, and what you hope to accomplish through counseling. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about my approach and share what's most important to you.

Together, we'll begin identifying your strengths, discuss any challenges you're experiencing, and develop goals that are meaningful to you. My approach is collaborative—I believe therapy works best when we work as a team to create a plan that fits your unique needs and values.

Most importantly, you can expect to be listened to with empathy, respect, and without judgment. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, or simply looking for personal growth, I am committed to helping you feel supported as we work toward meaningful and lasting change.
