Dr. Lihua Zhang

I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with extensive experience across a variety of mental health settings. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from Boston College in 2024.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked at McLean Hospital for several years as a psychiatric registered nurse, gaining extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, and neuropsychiatric services. I have also worked in outpatient psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center. These experiences have given me a strong foundation in understanding and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions across diverse patient populations.

My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and patient-centered, integrating medication management with mindfulness, lifestyle strategies, and holistic care. Guided by the nursing model, I look beyond symptoms to understand each person’s experiences, values, and goals, helping them work toward meaningful and sustainable well-being.

Your first session is designed to be thoughtful, comprehensive, and collaborative. We’ll explore your current concerns, relevant history, previous treatments, and the life experiences affecting your mental health. Together, we’ll identify your priorities and develop an individualized treatment plan. My goal is to empower you to strengthen your own capacity to manage challenges and live to your fullest potential.
