The majority of my 40 years working in social work I have worked with clients struggling with some type of grief or loss. Death, divorce, loss of job, loss of trust and security, moving, changing or graduating from schools all involve transition and loss. Receiving my bachelors and master's in social work helped prepare me academically. Getting my certification in grief counseling, attending workshops and sitting across from my clients everyday has educated me on the realities of loss.

I am very calm and easy to talk to. I believe in clients expressing tears, pain, frustration, anger and many more feelings as they walk through their grief journey. I walk next to my clients. Honesty and truth are very important in order for me to see the full picture of what is happening in order for me and my clients to create a treatment approach that will have a positive outcome. Open and clear communication helps to identify the goals.

I send clients home with tools to use in everyday life. Tools that are practical, provide exploration and reflection. Clients who want to move out of the whirlpool and chaos into finding purpose and joy. I have homework assignments, simple reading, videos, motivational videos are just a part of the toolbox that clients build on our journey.
