Great to meet you!

I completed my master's in clinical mental health counseling at Messiah University in 2021, which provided an emphasis on faith and spiritual integration into the therapeutic process. No matter what background or belief system one comes from, I am comfortable including it into the therapeutic process. Additionally, my undergraduate education was in Neuroscience which helps me bring a new perspective to mental health for my clients. Over the past five years I have worked closely with addiction and eating disorders, amongst other mental health issues. Although I prefer to practice in English, my second language is Spanish (Latin American) which can help bridge any language or cultural barriers.

My approach to therapy

Firstly, I like to evaluate where clients are in the change process and how committed they are. I find it important to set goals as a way to track progress within therapy. Ultimately, my main modal of therapy is Acceptance and Commitment therapy which uses new-wave techniques to help co-exist with uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. This practice uses mindfulness techniques to help manage symptoms of overthinking and negative self-talk. Depending on the client's comfortability and openness, I will pinpoint areas to utilize internal family systems therapy (or parts work) which helps clients use internal resources to provide safety to wounded parts.

What you can expect from me

The first sessions will be a discussion of what brings you to therapy, past experiences, and expectations around the therapeutic process. Additionally, it is an opportunity for me to get to know about your history and personality; what makes you, you!
