Great to meet you!

With over 16 years of clinical experience, I am the founder of Art of Life Therapy, a boutique Upper East Side Manhattan practice that specializes in helping help high-achieving Millennials and Gen Z overcome anxiety, depression, and stress. We combine clinical expertise with creative, tailored therapy to target the root cause so that you can build deep relationships and live a fulfilling life.

The mind fascinates me. As a life long learner, I’m passionate about connecting patterns of thought and behavior and the mind-body connection. I am also empathetic and curious by nature. As a psychologist I get to listen to stories, rewrite narratives, and positively transform lives. What could be better than that? We specialize in ages 14-41 because this is a time of huge transformation on so many fronts: building identity, a career, developing sustainable relationships, and making big life decisions. As a human, I can relate, and as a professional, I'm here to help.

My approach to therapy

With both a Doctorate in Psychology and Masters in Creative Arts Therapy, I integrate evidence-based treatments, clinical expertise, and an intuitive creative approach that enables the people I work with to address the root of problems and access internal resources so that they can experience more fulfillment and joy.

My foundation is attachment based psychodynamic psychotherapy and I overlay that with CBT, Mindfulness, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, expressive modalities such as role play, somatic processing, and other strategies to lower distress and activate powerful therapeutic change.

I am intuitive, collaborative, authentic, and don’t hesitate to use humor when appropriate. Working with me is informative, insightful, and action oriented. I do in depth work that requires a weekly commitment and am particularly skilled at helping process family of origin trauma, attachment ruptures, and helping the people I work with develop healthy boundaries so that they can experience more close-knit nourishing relationships and effectively navigate the more challenging ones.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be structured and focused on gathering important information to make sure we have a comprehensive understanding of what the problem is. One person told me she had never experienced a clinician as thorough as I am! That said, I also make sure to leave space to address any of your immediate concerns as my hope is that each session will be meaningful and productive for you. Many clients report feeling a sense of hope after our first session, and over the course of 6-8 sessions, most people experience a significant reduction in anxiety and depressive symptoms. From there, we continue to build on the progress we’ve made.
