Great to meet you!

If you've spent years fighting thoughts that feel both senseless and impossible to ignore, you're not alone. I'm a licensed mental health counselor with two decades in behavioral health, specializing in OCD, anxiety disorders, and PTSD. Many clients have spent years believing something was deeply wrong with them before they had a name for what they were dealing with; often the first relief comes from simply understanding the pattern.

I work with adults in both English and Spanish, and I have real depth across OCD subtypes, including scrupulosity, Pure O, health, existential, and contamination OCD. I also treat generalized anxiety, panic, and the lasting effects of trauma. Whatever the theme, the underlying mechanism is the same.

My approach to therapy

I'm warm but direct, and I use treatments with strong evidence behind them: Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD. These approaches work, but they ask something of you, so we move at a pace you can manage, and I'll explain the reasoning at every step rather than just handing you exercises.

Therapy with me isn't only about insight. We'll figure out what's keeping the distress going, then build skills you can use between sessions. I think the work goes best when you feel both genuinely supported and a little challenged, and I'll never ask you to do something I haven't helped you understand and prepare for.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my main job is to understand what brought you here and what's been keeping you stuck in a welcoming supportive space. We'll talk through your history and current symptoms, and I'll begin a structured assessment that continues into our second session so we build an accurate picture before settling on a direction. This isn't about labeling you; it's so we can target the right treatment and track real progress over time.

You won't leave with homework you don't understand. Over these first two sessions, you'll get a clearer picture of what's actually going on, a sense of how ERP or PE would apply to your situation, and a first step that feels doable. You can ask me anything, including whether I'm the right fit.
