Great to meet you!

Have you ever thought about why things are not working out the way you really want them to in your home, your job, and your relationships? Transition from one phase of life to the next seems to always take more time, more energy, and more drama than you anticipated. These are thoughts that my clients seek to find their specific answers. "It is really not working out like I thought it would. There is a conflict at home. There's conflict on the job. Or it seems like conflict within me. Many things I have wanted in life have not yet happened. I feel as if I am being left behind by my peers. Some situations get better, then three other things seem to get worse. Although I try to remain positive, it feels as if nothing has changed. It is exhausting. I have a good life, good family, good friends with relationships and most of the time and then there are the other times. I go to church; I pray I help other when I need help no one is available. It seems as if life is full of stressful situations. Who do I get to talk to? Why am I not satisfied, happy, and joyous.”

Through counseling and implementing coping skills to reduce symptoms of anxiety and stress, I notice that my clients verbalize how using the skills introduced and practiced during sessions change the way they think and act with more poise self-assurance and mastery of some life situations.

A bit about my approach to therapy

We have a lot of experience working with kids, teens, adults and couples. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can try different coping skills and practice them on your path to feeling better and growing. It is important to us that you feel understood and accepted as you navigate through recovery.

Everyone has their own story that brought them to therapy. The emotional journey you go through is both unique and profound. We begin by acknowledging the pain and struggles that have shaped the current state of feelings and emotions. As we delve into these experiences, clients often uncover layers of unresolved emotions and conflicting thoughts. This process can be both cathartic and overwhelming, but it is a crucial step towards healing.

Through our sessions, clients learn to identify and articulate their feelings, which many have suppressed for years. They start to see patterns in their behavior and thoughts that contribute to their anxiety and stress. This newfound awareness is a powerful tool in their personal growth. Clients begin to challenge their negative thoughts and replace them with healthier, more constructive ones.

As we explore your story, you will get a chance to rethink your experiences and see yourself as someone who has overcome challenges. This helps you to be stronger and honor your victories. Gradually, clients build a toolkit of coping mechanisms that they can rely on in times of distress. These tools empower you to handle difficult situations with more poise, self-assurance, and mastery.

The journey is not always smooth, and there are setbacks along the way. However, each setback is an opportunity for learning and growth. Clients learn to be kinder to themselves, recognizing that progress is not always linear. You will celebrate small victories and learn acknowledge your resilience.

What you can expect from our first session

We will look at how your past affects your present actions and thoughts. We will give you tools to help fix unhelpful thinking patterns, so you can move forward with more confidence and self-awareness.

Our aim is to help you see yourself as the hero of your own story, recognizing the strength and determination that have helped you get through tough times. We honor your journey and work towards a future where you feel more true to yourself and ready to face whatever comes your way with courage.
