Great to meet you!

I'm a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) — one of a relatively small number of therapists trained directly through Dr. Peter Levine's institute — and a certified partner trauma specialist through APSATS. That combination means I work with two kinds of clients who often struggle to find the right therapist: people whose anxiety, PTSD, or grief isn't responding to traditional talk therapy, and partners navigating the devastating aftermath of betrayal and infidelity. After 15 years, I've learned that the body holds what words can't always reach. My work is rooted in that understanding — and in deep respect for how much courage it takes to begin.

My approach to therapy

My primary approach is Somatic Experiencing (SE) — a body-based method that works with the nervous system's natural capacity to process and complete traumatic responses. I layer this with Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Inner Relationship Focusing, and attachment-informed relational work when the moment calls for it.What that looks like in practice: we pay attention not just to your story, but to what your body does while you tell it. Tightness in the chest. A held breath. A sudden urge to look away. Those signals aren't distractions — they're information, and they're often the most direct path to relief.I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, PTSD, infertility grief, maternal mental health, betrayal trauma, and chronic stress. My style is warm and direct — I'll be honest with you, and I'll work hard alongside you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about two things: getting to know each other and giving you something useful right away. I won't spend the whole intake taking notes — I want to understand what's brought you here, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for. From there, I'll share how I work and whether I think our approach fits your needs.By the end of the first session, you'll have at least one or two body-oriented tools you can actually use — not just a handout, but a practice we've started together. Most clients tell me they feel different by the end of that first hour, even when they weren't sure what to expect.I see clients via telehealth in Florida and Virginia, and in person in Roanoke, VA. Not sure if I'm the right fit? I offer a free 15-minute call to find out.
