Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Dr. Linda! Thank you for reaching out and allowing me the opportunity to navigate this journey with you. As a Ph.D. graduate in Counselor Education from Mississippi State University and a Mississippi Licensed Professional Counselor since 2001, I have taught, worked in a domestic abuse shelter, and have been in private practice for 25 years. I specialize in mood disorders, adoption issues, trauma, EMDR, Christian Counseling, and most recently, Splankna.

My approach to therapy

My natural inclination is to take a constructivist Adlerian approach, integrating a selective treatment plan tailored to each client's unique needs and developmental stage. My clinical skills are much like a skeleton key, helping clients understand their challenges, overcome obstacles, explore new possibilities, and unlock their inner potential.

What you can expect from me

When you begin counseling or therapy, you can expect to meet a therapist who has completed extensive training to support individuals facing challenges like yours. Your therapist will listen attentively to your experiences and ask meaningful questions about your life. They may inquire about your background, including your family history and typical patterns in your relationships with others. The therapist will also explore what you hope to achieve through therapy and help you to define your goals. Most clients attend therapy once a week for a 50 minute session. During this time, you will have the opportunity to discuss your concerns openly. Occasionally, the therapist may assign psychological homework, which provides a way to continue making progress between sessions.
