Great to meet you!

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, aka life and relationship strategist, family mediator and educator. Relationships are fundamental to mental health, healthy families, as well as social and emotional wellbeing; thereby mitigating depression, anxiety and major mental illness disorders. For the past 15+ years my profession includes private practice, Certified Florida Supreme Court Family Mediator and Parent Coordinator, and Arizona Superior Court Family Center of Conciliation Court as a Counselor/Mediator. My current practice in the Jacksonville Florida area, provides counseling and psychotherapy/education groups and therapy with individuals experiencing difficulty adjusting with life cycle change, couples and families experiencing communication, cohesiveness, conflict, parenting and emotional/mental distress from both family and work.

My education includes Bachelors degree in Psychology and Theology, a Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and a Doctorate in Christian Counseling.

My approach to therapy

Because everyone is unique in their own way, I take a client-centered, offering a space for comfort, non-judgment and trust. You get to share your story, discover what matters most to you and set goals for transformative change and healing you so deserve. Therapeutic models used for assessing, discovery and goal setting include, Gottman and PrepareEnrich for couples, Solution-Focus and Internal Family Systems, CBT, DBT and Narrative approaches.

What you can expect from me

We begin with an introductory session, allowing you the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I will seek to understand you and the challenges you face. I believe therapy is a team effort, so we work together for a greater outcome--personally, relationally and socially. My goal is to make every effort to create a warm, welcoming environment that allows you to be vulnerable and received from a place of warmth and trust.

From there, we continue the work of uncovering and goal-setting together to make these goals a reality for you. I will say, because real change comes with some form of challenge prompting, I will take an approach that empowers you with lasting skills for transformation and healing.
