Great to meet you!

Hello,

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist (which means I have a doctorate and I do talk therapy, no medication assessment or prescribing) that loves working with women that are wanting to recover from disordered eating, body image challenges, or learning to travel with grief.

I work with you to find the right balance of radical acceptance, meeting you where you are at, with compassion, along with encouraging you to change and grow, where you would like to change and grow.

My approach to therapy

I'm very person centered. So I'm going to hold a space for you to be who you are, and become who you want to be.

In eating disorder recovery, I will offer very pragmatic tools.

With body image work, I will explore with you what feelings you are having. I will never support you in going on a diet or or listening to your- or diet culture's- mean voice.

In grief, I will not try to fix you. You are not broken!

I will help you learn how to be a fiercely compassionate advocate for yourself, in a grief illiterate culture.

I will encourage you to identify your thoughts and feelings...and notice how they are affecting you. How are you talking to yourself internally?

If you are open to it, we will explore family of origin dynamics, and how they are affecting you currently.

In addition, if you would like, we will use expressive arts, or guided meditation.

What you can expect from me

We will talk! I will hold space for you to talk about what you need to talk about! I will also challenge you to talk about what you don't want to talk about, as usually "what's in the way is the way."

If you want it, you will leave with homework. That is a "could," not a "should."
