Great to meet you!

I received my Master’s degree at UW-Oshkosh. I knew that I always wanted to know more about the treatment of trauma, because I had always felt the mind and the body worked together. While I was getting my Master’s degree, I also received training in EMDR, so I was able to really explore the ins and outs of trauma treatment early in my career.

I worked for 12 years at Green Lake County in management positions where I learned so much from the people I served and the people I worked with. I eventually became the unit manager and was responsible for running 7 different behavioral health programs. I loved my job, but I missed the counseling, and in 2012, I opened private practice and returned to my passion of learning and teaching about the mind/body connection.

My approach to therapy

I do a blend of somatic work, much like doing whole body EMDR, but in a much gentler way. First you get the tools to manage and change your nervous system. Then we slowly go through the sensations that come up as you bump into triggers that you have probably created habits around. You get to use your own tools, at your own pace, when your triggers happen. Of course there is a learning curve, but most people report significant shifts in one session.

What you can expect from me

Clients should expect palpable relief from stress, and have at least one solid tool or more to use between sessions to manage stress/anxiety.
