Great to meet you!

Great to meet you! My name is Linda Smiley, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I enjoy being a therapist because everyone deserves to be validated, listened to, and given the opportunity to live their best life. I am born and raised in Kentucky, and have also lived in a couple of other states — experiences that have shaped how I practice. Working with individuals from other cultures has given me a multicultural lens, and that perspective is part of every session I offer.

My approach to therapy

I take a positive, holistic, and person-centered approach. That means you are in charge — we go at your pace, and our work together should always feel comfortable and safe. I am not here to lecture or hand you a script. I am here to listen, to encourage, and to help you reconnect with the expert you already are on your own life.

What you can expect from me

Most of my clients tell me they feel lighter after just one session. Our first meeting is mostly about rapport — I want to hear your story, in your words, at your speed. Many clients tell me it feels like they have chatted with a friend... and then realize there has been real growth in the conversation. That balance — warm and human, with substance underneath — is exactly what I aim for.
