Great to meet you!

I believe therapy should be a place where you can be yourself without worrying about being judged or saying the “right” thing. I work with adults, adolescents, and couples who may be dealing with anxiety, trauma, major life changes, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck.

My style is warm, down to earth, and supportive. I understand that opening up to someone new can feel uncomfortable, so I focus on creating a space where you can feel safe, heard, and understood. I also believe therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy. There is room for humor, personality, and genuine human connection while still doing meaningful work.

My goal is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you better understand yourself, develop practical tools, recognize your strengths, and feel more confident navigating the things that brought you to therapy.

My approach to therapy

My approach is individualized because I don’t believe therapy should look exactly the same for every person. I primarily use trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and grounding techniques, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and strengths-based interventions, while adapting treatment to each client’s needs, personality, and goals.

We may work on identifying patterns between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors; developing healthier coping skills; processing difficult experiences; improving emotional regulation; or gradually becoming more comfortable with situations you have been avoiding because of anxiety or trauma.

I tend to be collaborative and practical. I want you to understand why we are doing something in therapy and to leave sessions with strategies you can actually use in your everyday life, not just concepts that sound good in a therapy office.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is primarily about getting to know you and understanding what has been going on, what brought you to therapy, and what you would like to be different. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, relevant history, symptoms, relationships, supports, and goals, but I don’t expect you to tell me everything about yourself in one session.

We’ll also talk about what you hope to get from therapy and begin identifying areas we can work on together. You are always welcome to ask questions, let me know when something doesn’t feel helpful, or tell me that you aren’t ready to discuss something yet.

Most importantly, there is no expectation that you show up knowing exactly what to say. My job is to help guide the conversation. By the end of the first session, my goal is for you to have a clearer idea of what working together will look like and to feel that you have a supportive, comfortable space to come back to.
