Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Lindsay, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP). I have been licensed in TN since 2023. I've been working primarily with children and families since 2013, beginning in therapeutic case management before transitioning into counseling. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Human Services from East Tennessee State University in 2010 and my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020, including courses and an internship focused on adult mental health and substance use treatment. Since 2021 I have worked as a school-based therapist. Throughout my career, I've worked with children, teens, adults, and families experiencing a wide range of challenges including family disruption, interpersonal conflict, self-esteem/self-worth issues, anxiety, depression, complex and generational trauma, substance use, parenting, grief and loss, emotional dysregulation, major life transitions, and women's issues.

My approach to therapy

Whether you're just beginning therapy or just beginning with me, I believe choosing to participate in therapy is a courageous and vulnerable step toward your ideal wellness so my primary focus is always creating comfort in a non-judgmental atmosphere. The therapy relationship itself is foundational to and one of the biggest predictors of therapy success. I want every client to feel welcome, cared for, empowered, safe, and heard because life is messy, and we are all just trying to figure things out in life on this flying rock. I believe a positive experience in therapy allows people to be completely honest, bare, and vulnerable and that's when beautiful things happen! So bring your worries, frustrations, stresses, and "I-can't-talk-to-anyone-else-about-this"s; let's work together to get you unstuck.

What you can expect from me

In your first session with me you can expect that we will discuss your rights as a client, expectations, what you need from your time with me, mental health treatment history, and, with any remaining time, some casual conversation about you and your life.
