Lindsay Linebarger

I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University in 2013. I have over ten years of experience as a clinician. I am a Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Supervisor in New Jersey. I spent years working as a therapist in a private, therapeutic school and the past three years I have worked in a group private practice. I have treated children, tweens, teens and adults. However, except for established clients, I do not feel comfortable treating children online and so I am currently only open to working with adults.

I stay up to date on mental health research, listen to mental health related audiobooks on my commute to my day job (I work in a school during the day) and attend multiple relevant trainings throughout the year. Recent trainings include topics such as, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing and treating anxiety and trauma/shame.

I believe in a collaborative approach which allows the individual the ability to define their strengths, values and goals. I create a safe environment for the individual to explore the limiting beliefs and behavioral patterns that have been holding them back from the life they want and deserve. My job is to ask the right questions and support you in discovering the answers that are right for you.

My goal is for clients to leave sessions feeling lighter, more clear headed, better able to articulate their thoughts and feelings and more prepared to handle life’s challenges.
