My name is Lindsay McKinney, and I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of MA with twenty years experience in the field. Early in my career, I focused mostly on working with children, teens, and supporting their families; then expanded to working with adults. I have significant experience with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, autism, and behavior issues.
My approach is eclectic. I combine cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused approaches. I am also trained in EMDR.
The first session can is mostly focused upon getting to know you and setting the foundation for working together in future session. I will focus upon understanding your past and present and doing so work with you to be able to figure out the best way to help you.
