Great to meet you!

I'm Lindsey Barlow, a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR-certified therapist specializing in trauma, anxiety, and the patterns that quietly run underneath capable, accomplished lives. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fort Hays State University, am a National Certified Counselor, and have been in practice since 2019. I'm licensed in Colorado and Arizona and see clients exclusively via telehealth.

Most of the individuals I work with aren't in crisis. They're thoughtful, self-aware, and often have therapy experience already. What brings them in is the recognition that talking about it hasn't been the same as resolving it — that there's a quieter exhaustion underneath the version of themselves the world sees, and they're ready for work that actually moves something. Together we address everyday stressors, micro-traumas, anxiety, relationship and family patterns, and bigger experiences they may be carrying.

My approach to therapy

EMDR is the core of my work. It's an evidence-based therapy that works where patterns actually live — in the nervous system and in stored experience — rather than only at the level of insight. That's what allows the changes to hold.

My approach is integrative and whole-person. We pay attention to your nervous system, your body, your sleep, your relationships, and the patterns running underneath them, because mental health doesn't live in isolation from the rest of you. Sessions are collaborative and paced to your nervous system — we move at the speed that lets change actually integrate, not the speed that feels like progress on paper.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other and start mapping what's brought you in. We'll talk through your history, what you're navigating now, and what you'd like to be different. I'll explain how EMDR works and how we'd approach your specific goals, and you'll have space to ask anything you want about the process. For more information about EMDR, please visit EMDRIA.org.

You don't need to come in with everything figured out, and you don't need to be in crisis to do meaningful work. If we're a good fit, we'll build a plan together. If we're not, I'll help you find someone who is.
