Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm a licensed Clinical Psychologist based out of Anaconda, Montana with licenses in Florida and Montana. I offer in-person and virtual sessions. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, and chronic health conditions. As an Army veteran, I also have a passion for working with first responders. Working in corrections requires a level of hypervigilance that few people outside the walls truly understand. The daily stress, rotating shifts, security threats, and institutional pressure take a massive toll—not just on you, but on your relationships, sleep, and life outside of work.

I am a licensed psychologist with 1.5 years of direct experience working inside the prison environment. Because of this background, I understand the unique culture, the operational stressors, and the reality of the job. You do not have to spend your sessions explaining the prison system or censoring yourself. I know the environment, and we can get straight to the work.

My practice is entirely independent of the state and the department network. Your privacy is my highest priority, and your treatment records remain 100% confidential and separate from your employer.

Whether you are trying to learn how to leave the job at the gate, managing burnout, recovering from a critical incident, or navigating family stress, I provide straight-talking, practical, and trauma-informed tools to help you take care of your mental health.

My approach to therapy

I do not use passive, "how does that make you feel" talk therapy. My approach is active, practical, and highly collaborative. I view therapy as tactical mindset training. We look at the exact challenges you are facing on the shift and at home, and we build a concrete strategy to fix them.

To do this, I draw from three proven, evidence-based frameworks, translated specifically for the realities of first responder and correctional work:

  • Mindset & Behavioral Tactics (CBT): In high-stress environments, your brain adapts by keeping you on high alert (hypervigilance) to keep you safe. While that works on the tier, it wrecks your sleep, health, and relationships when you bring it home. We will look at how your thoughts, physical reactions, and habits are locking you into that survival mode, and we will build specific tactics to help you successfully flick the "off switch."
  • Clarifying Your Motivation (Motivational Interviewing): The toll of this career can leave you feeling cynical, burnt out, or stuck in unhealthy ruts (like isolation or heavy drinking). I won't lecture you or judge you. Instead, we work together to clarify what you actually want out of your life, family, and career, helping you regain control and get unstuck on your own terms.
  • Direct, Solution-Focused Strategy (Solution-Focused Therapy): You deal with crises all day; you don't need a therapy session that leaves you spinning in circles. We focus heavily on the present and the future. We identify what is already working well for you, pinpoint the immediate problems, and focus on practical, actionable steps you can use the very same day to get relief.

You are the expert on your life, and I understand the environment you work in. Together, we build the toolkit you need to protect your mental health, your career, and your family.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is simply a straightforward, low-pressure conversation to see if we are a good fit. I operate a practical, no-nonsense practice, so you don't need to worry about awkward icebreakers or feeling interrogated.

Here is exactly what our session will look like:

  • Establishing Total Privacy First: Before we discuss anything else, we will review confidentiality. Because my practice is 100% independent, I will explain exactly how your records are kept completely private and secure from your employer.
  • The "Big Picture" Review: We will look at what is currently going on in your life. You can share as much or as little as you want. Because of my 1.5 years of experience working inside the facility, you do not have to explain the tiers, the shifts, or the prison environment. I already understand the background, so you can just focus on how you are feeling.
  • Identifying Your Goals: We will pinpoint exactly what you want to get out of therapy. Whether that is learning how to actually leave the job at the gate, fixing your sleep, processing a critical incident, or improving communication with your spouse, you define what success looks like.
  • Building a Practical Plan: We won't just talk about problems; we will map out a concrete game plan. By the time you leave, you will know exactly how often we will meet and the specific, practical strategies we will start using to get you relief.

There is no pressure to dive into deep trauma on day one. You control the pace, and we work as a team.
