Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Lisa. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) providing online therapy to adults throughout California. Many of the people I work with appear capable on the outside but carry a quiet sense that something feels disconnected, overwhelming, or unresolved beneath the surface. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, creating space to gently explore the stories, relationships, and experiences that have shaped you. I specialize in emotional neglect, relationship anxiety, complicated grief, and the unique experience of being an adult child of immigrants or a first-generation American. Together, we can cultivate a deeper relationship with the parts of yourself that long to be understood, helping you move through life with greater clarity, connection, and self-trust.

My approach to therapy

I believe that the struggles we experience in the present often have roots in relationships and experiences from the past. I help clients explore both the deeper patterns that shape their lives and the different parts of themselves that emerge in response to life's challenges. I work with curiosity, warmth, and collaboration, trusting that meaningful change happens not through self-criticism, but through understanding. Whether you're navigating relationship anxiety, the effects of emotional neglect, grief, or questions of identity and belonging, therapy can be a place to slow down, listen inward, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

What you can expect from me

Beginning therapy can feel both hopeful and vulnerable, so my first priority is creating a space where you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are. In our first session, we'll explore what brings you to therapy, what feels most important in your life right now, and what you hope might be different through our work together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, relationships, and experiences, while also leaving room for whatever feels most present for you in the moment. My goal is not to rush toward solutions, but to begin building a shared understanding of your inner world so that therapy can become a place of insight, healing, and meaningful change.
