Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Lisa Harris. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a background in Counseling Psychology, School Counseling with an emphasis in child welfare, and prior experience in social work. I am trained in Marital Therapy (Gottman Level 1), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and evidence-based approaches for anxiety, parenting, and child development.

My clinical work focuses on supporting couples, individuals, and families, with specialized experience in trauma, anxiety, child and adolescent therapy, and parenting interventions, including Positive Parenting and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). I am dedicated to helping clients strengthen relationships, improve communication, and build resilience.

My approach to therapy

I take a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy, creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and challenges. My style is warm, practical, and strengths-based, while also incorporating evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Overall, my goal is to help clients develop insight, build practical skills, and create meaningful, lasting change in their relationships and daily lives.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and my goal is to make your first session feel as comfortable and welcoming as possible. We’ll begin by talking about what brought you in and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this is your space, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

During this first meeting, I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background, current challenges, and strengths. This helps me get a full picture of your needs so we can begin creating a plan that feels supportive and meaningful to you.

Together, we’ll start identifying goals—whether that’s improving communication, managing anxiety, strengthening relationships, or supporting your child or family. I’ll also share how I work and what approaches might be most helpful, so you feel informed and confident moving forward.

Most importantly, you can expect a calm, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning.
