Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Lisa Herman. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University-Chicago in 1999. I have worked in various settings in the mental health world, including schools, community mental health and social service agencies, as well as in private practice. All of these experiences have been valuable and allowed me the privilege of being there for people when they need support.

I have done considerable work with anxiety, ADHD, and depression. I also focus on general stress management and self-care.

My approach to therapy

"Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn't permanent." This quote by Jean Kerr is the reason I do what I do. Hope is a powerful feeling that, unfortunately, is all too easy to lose sight of. Let's work together to restore hopefulness and make the life changes that best serve you. I strive to work collaboratively with clients to help them learn personalized ways to manage difficulties and live productively.

What you can expect from me

I strive to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment. The first session is a conversation, a time to get to know each other and to create a comfortable environment. It is also a time for the client to ask any questions they may have about the process or me.
