Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult and uncertain moments. My professional background includes many years working in healthcare, palliative care, hospice, and crisis intervention, which has given me a deep understanding of grief, loss, major life transitions, and the emotional impact of serious illness.

I specialize in grief and loss, including anticipatory grief—the emotions and challenges that can arise when facing an expected loss or significant change. I also have extensive experience in crisis management and helping individuals and families cope during periods of overwhelming stress, uncertainty, and difficult decision-making.

I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky and my Bachelor of Social Work from Colorado State University–Pueblo. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I strive to provide a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can openly process their experiences and emotions.

My approach recognizes that grief is deeply personal and does not follow a specific timeline or path. Whether you are grieving the death of someone you love, anticipating a loss, adjusting to a serious illness, experiencing a major life transition, or simply feeling overwhelmed by circumstances that have changed your life, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you find ways to cope, heal, and move forward while honoring what you have experienced.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, supportive, and individualized. I believe people need a safe space where they can talk openly about what they are experiencing without feeling judged or pressured to “move on” before they are ready. I meet clients where they are and work collaboratively with them to identify what they need most from therapy.

I specialize in grief and loss, anticipatory grief, crisis management, serious illness, caregiver stress, and difficult life transitions. Much of my professional experience has involved helping individuals and families navigate situations that can feel overwhelming, uncertain, or life-changing.

When working with grief, I recognize that there is no single right way to grieve and no specific timeline for healing. My goal is not to take grief away, but to help clients understand and process their emotions, develop healthy ways of coping, and gradually find a way forward while still honoring the person, relationship, or part of their life that has been lost.

My style is warm, straightforward, and conversational. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself, whether you need to talk, cry, process difficult decisions, work through complicated emotions, or simply have someone sit with you during a difficult season of life.

What you can expect from me

I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe being honest about what they are experiencing. Therapy does not have to be formal or intimidating. My style is compassionate, conversational, and straightforward, and I believe in meeting each person where they are rather than expecting them to fit into a particular approach.

Together, we develop goals that are meaningful and realistic for you. Depending on what brings you to therapy, those goals may include learning to cope with grief and loss, preparing emotionally for an anticipated loss, managing overwhelming emotions during a crisis, adjusting to major life changes, developing healthier coping strategies, or simply beginning to feel more like yourself again.

When working with grief, my goal is not to help you “get over” your loss or forget what was important to you. Instead, we work toward finding ways to carry that loss while continuing to live a meaningful life. For clients experiencing anticipatory grief, serious illness, caregiving stress, or crisis, I also focus on helping reduce feelings of overwhelm, identify what is within your control, strengthen coping skills, and navigate difficult emotions and decisions one step at a time.

Ultimately, I want therapy to be a place where you feel heard, understood, and supported while gaining practical tools and greater confidence in your ability to navigate whatever life has placed in front of you.
