Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Lisa, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 20 years of experience. I specialize in anxiety, intrusive thoughts/OCD, trauma, life transitions, parenting challenges, and decision-making struggles. I am trained in EMDR, PCIT, Triple P Parenting, and Gottman Couples Therapy Level 1.

I previously owned an in-person private practice in Northern California, taught in a graduate Counseling Psychology program, and have supervised associate therapists working toward licensure. My background includes working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families navigating stress, worry, trauma, and major life changes.

Personally, I value growth and courage in the face of fear. After closing my in-person practice several years ago and transitioning to online work while traveling full-time, I gained a deeper understanding of culture, learned how to speak Spanish, and found out how powerful it is to face uncertainty and create meaningful life change... something I now help my clients do in their own lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I use evidence-based methods including EMDR, CBT-informed strategies, and trauma-informed care to help clients break cycles of overthinking, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and self-doubt.

I focus on identifying patterns that keep you feeling stuck, processing past experiences, and building tools that help you feel more calm, grounded, and confident in daily life. Therapy with me is supportive but also goal-oriented, with real strategies you can use outside of sessions.

I tailor therapy to each client’s needs and pace, whether you are working through anxiety, trauma, parenting stress, life transitions, or difficult decisions.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a supportive, judgment-free conversation focused on understanding what brings you to therapy, what you want to change, and how I can help. We’ll discuss your current concerns, history, and goals, while identifying patterns such as anxiety, overthinking, intrusive thoughts, or feeling stuck.

My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and understood while also creating a clear direction for our work together. Most clients leave the first session feeling more hopeful, validated, and reassured that change is possible.
