Great to meet you!

Do you joke to cope? I may be a good fit for you! My name is Lisa, and I am a licensed clinical social worker who aims to create a safe and authentic space for healing. As a queer person and therapist, I aim to create an affirming space for all my clients. I got my Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). I pull from a few different techniques in my sessions to meet you where you are: I am Level 3 Radically Open-DBT trained and have extensive training in DBT. I also use narrative therapy, trauma-focused CBT, and other strengths-based models to provide evidence-based care to uniquely fit clients’ needs.

My approach to therapy

I aim to take a strengths-based, client-centered approach, creating the space for empathy, mindful intention, and authenticity in our sessions. I believe that humor and connection are essential parts of the healing process, and I try to balance that with applicable skills or direct feedback to help you progress.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will briefly introduce myself, and then I will ask a lot of questions about your goals, your needs, and your past. My goal for the first session is to start creating a plan for your treatment, without pushing you past your comfort level for our first time meeting.
