Great to meet you!

I help people get unstuck from trauma and grief. To do this, I use EMDR therapy, clinical hypnosis, solution-focused brief therapy, and CBT. I’ve been in private practice since 2004 working with individual adults, adolescents, and families. I’m passionate about assisting clients to move past painful events in their lives so they can enjoy life and have better relationships with themselves and others. I also use hypnosis to enhance self-acceptance, overcome self-destructive habits, and improve stress management. I have also provided training on traumatic grief and hypnosis to other mental health professionals.

Prior to establishing my private practice, I worked in community mental health clinics and drug and alcohol abuse programs in the San Francisco Bay Area. I moved to Lancaster in 2009 and I’ve been serving my community here since. I provide psychotherapy online to California residents through HIPAA-compliant video therapy.

My approach to therapy

Unlike approaches that focus solely on changing thoughts, I address the mind, body, and emotions. Together, we create a treatment plan tailored to your needs, process unresolved memories, and work toward feeling neutral about past experiences.

With training in EMDR, Ericksonian hypnotherapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, I bring the expertise necessary to facilitate healing. My personal experience with trauma and loss allows me to truly understand what you’re going through. My focus on attachment and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy helps improve relationships and emotional responses.

What you can expect from me

The initial session allows me to discover what brings you to therapy, how it's affecting you, and what you would like instead. I also like to find out about how you're coping, your use of substances, and the context of your existence (past and present relationships to family members, partners, and friendships). I finish the session with an opportunity to provide feedback and to collaboratively develop treatment goals. After that, we work on the goals you've established and check in periodically about how you're progressing towards those goals.
