Great to meet you!

Great to meet you!

Most therapy teaches you to cope. Sometimes you need something more. You want to know why you're anxious, why you hate yourself, where the voice in your head came from that says you're not enough. That's different work, and it's what I do.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in depth-oriented therapy with men experiencing trauma, LGBTQ+ individuals, religious trauma survivors, and parents healing from childhood abuse. We trace current issues back to where they started. You learn how certain messages got installed, why you believed them, and what keeps them running.

My approach to therapy

Sessions with me look different than skills-based therapy. We talk about your life now and your past. We pay attention to what you do without thinking, to the stories you tell yourself. I ask questions that might not have easy answers. The work happens between sessions as much as during them. You'll learn what's driving your patterns and where they started.

What you can expect from me

We'll start by talking about what brought you here and what you want to understand. You can expect sessions where we examine what's happening now and trace it back. You'll learn how certain messages got installed, why you believed them, and what keeps them running. Many clients notice they understand their anger, anxiety, or self-hatred differently. They can identify what's triggering them and why. They make different choices because they understand what's driving their reactions. You'll leave sessions knowing more about yourself than when you arrived.
