Great to meet you!

Lisa Merritt, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with extensive experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, and substance use disorders across the lifespan. Her approach integrates thorough diagnostic assessment with individualized medication management and supportive, skills-based psychotherapy.

Lisa holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and advanced training in psychiatric mental health, supported by years of clinical work in outpatient psychiatry, behavioral health systems, detox and dual-diagnosis programs, and community-based organizations. Her background also includes serving as Chief Nurse Executive for a large behavioral health agency, where she oversaw integrated mental health, addiction treatment, and community-care programs—experience that deepens her holistic and systems-informed approach to patient care.

My approach to therapy

In her clinical practice, Lisa conducts comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, prescribes and manages psychotropic medications, and provides psychotherapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and solution-focused approaches. She incorporates trauma-informed care, works closely with primary care providers, schools, and multidisciplinary teams, and places strong emphasis on patient education, empowerment, and long-term wellness.

What you can expect from me

Lisa is licensed in multiple states and is committed to expanding access to high-quality, culturally responsive mental health care.
