Great to meet you!

My Positive, Storied Approach to Personal and Professional Growth

Everyone’s life is a grand story, filled with twists and turns, good things and bad things, all grounded in personal life themes. I consider it an enormous honor to be invited into someone’s story and believe that everyone has the power to take control of their stories, write the next chapter, and then make it happen.

Be the hero of your own story! Together we can talk about everything from what you want to include as you move forward, what you want to leave behind, and even the cast of characters in your life! Through thoughtful and genuine exploration, we both gain a better understanding of you and what you bring to the world including your strengths and talents, meaning and purpose. Through the process, my goal is to empower you to create a meaningful story you can be excited to step into.

I am an NCDA Certified Career Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. I have PhD in Counselor Education and a master's degree in mental health counseling. I currently serve on the boards of both the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). I bring my strengths, training, and experience to our career and counseling work together.

My approach to therapy

While I specialize in career counseling, I also love working with clients seeking other positive life changes as well. I take a wholistic approach to helping people explore, identify, and name the things that are no longer working for them so that we can identify better outcomes and purposefully move in a new direction. Much like in career counseling, I think about individuals as stories. When starting a new chapter, questions include what to focus more attention on, what to add, and what to edit out entirely! Through the process, you should feel heard, supported, and empowered.

What you can expect from me

There is something going on for you right now that has brought you to find a helper. Maybe you’ve been unhappy for a while or maybe something dramatic has happened recently that has pushed you toward change. No matter how much discomfort you are in or how much trauma you’ve experienced, you’re here because you have hope that things can be different and better. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! You have gifts and talents to share with the world and you deserve to find an employment situation that recognizes, appreciates, and values you. The process might not always be comfortable or pretty, but together we can figure out what actions you need to take and we can develop the energy and motivation you need to make a change. The process will be tailored to what you need whether you know exactly what you want to do next or are completely lost and just know you need something different.
