Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 25 years of experience. My current focus is working with children, adolescents, and young adults between the ages of 2 and 22. My practice is dedicated entirely to this age group because I believe early intervention and meaningful support during formative years can have a lasting, positive impact on a young person's life. I have worked with youth navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral difficulties, and family, social and school-related stress. I often incorporate play therapy techniques into my work with young people, highlighting the ways that children and youth often express and process their experiences most naturally, through creativity and play. I also have a strong commitment to supporting parents as partners in the therapeutic process.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and rooted in positive psychology. Rather than focusing solely on what is going wrong, I work alongside my clients to identify what is already working and build from there. I believe every young person has unique strengths and resilience, and my role is to help them recognize and harness those qualities. For younger children, I often use play therapy and art therapy techniques to create a space where expression feels natural, safe, and even fun. These modalities allow children to communicate and heal in ways that feel developmentally comfortable rather than forced. For older youth and young adults, I adapt my approach to meet them where they are, blending creative techniques with more direct conversation and goal-focused work. Family involvement is always welcome and encouraged.

What you can expect from me

My first session structure is tailored to the age of the client. For younger children, I begin by meeting with parents or caregivers alone to gather background information, understand your concerns, and align on what you hope therapy will accomplish for your child. For older children, adolescents, and teens, I start by bringing the caregiver(s) and client together to create a space for everyone's voice to be heard from the very beginning. From there, I meet individually with the young person so they can speak freely and begin building a sense of trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship. Regardless of age, you can expect the first session to feel warm and welcoming.
