Great to meet you!

Looking for a seasoned, skilled, and compassionate psychologist? You found her. My name is Lisa Viator, and I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for the past 35 years. I am highly experienced in supporting clients through depression, anxiety, eating concerns, body image struggles, PTSD and trauma, personality assessment, identity development, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. I am especially passionate about helping emerging adults feel validated as they navigate identity, independence, self-understanding, and a rapidly changing world. I am affirming and respectful of each client’s gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, culture, and country of origin. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported as your full self.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, warm, affirming, and collaborative. I draw from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. In session, this may look like exploring sensitive topics, understanding vulnerable emotions, identifying thought patterns that contribute to anxiety or depression, strengthening self-awareness, processing relationship or identity concerns, and building healthier ways to cope. I believe therapy should be a safe space where you can talk openly, feel accepted, and gain insight into the patterns that may be affecting your well-being. My style is compassionate, open-minded, and grounded in helping clients feel both emotionally supported and better equipped to move forward.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you as a whole person and understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, your background, your strengths, and what you hope to gain from our work together. Whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, eating or body image concerns, ADHD-related questions, identity exploration, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, we will begin identifying goals that feel meaningful and realistic. My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and affirming environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace while we collaboratively develop a treatment plan that supports your needs.
