Great to meet you!

I'm Liz Decasse (they/them), an independently licensed mental health counselor with an MA in Counseling from Lesley University who has worked with clients of all ages on issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, executive dysfunction, self-esteem, & adjusting to life stressors. Now, I work mostly with adolescents & adults via telehealth. I especially enjoy working with those who feel outside of “traditional” societal norms: neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, polyamory/ENM, & kink-identified clients.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I practice from a person-centered & strengths-based lens. I often use humor, art, & writing in sessions. I value bringing my authentic self to sessions & encourage you to do the same. I provide support with boundaries, self-advocacy, coping with stress, exploring patterns & ways to break away from what is no longer helping you, finding creative ways to address your individual needs, etc. What works for one person may not work for you -let's work together to see what fits!

What you can expect from our first session

I emphasize ensuring my clients feel heard & validated, while also being able to call out unhealthy patterns & challenge negative self-talk. I offer education to help my clients learn about why their brains may work the way they do because, more often than not, your brain is doing exactly what it was designed to do from an evolutionary standpoint - however frustrating it might be! I pull from many different modalities like CBT & DBT, but ultimately strive to find what works for you.
