Great to meet you!

Hi, I am Lizette Perez-Rivas, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering therapy in English and Spanish across Texas via telehealth. I became a therapist because I believe that every person, regardless of their background or language, deserves access to quality mental health care. I believe we are all unique, and that every one of us deserves to live the fullest, most empowered version of our lives. I work with adults, children, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and the effects of childhood sexual abuse, and I am trained in TF-CBT, CBT, and ACT. I am so glad you are here.

My approach to therapy

Everyone has a unique story and deserves care that honors that. Once we decide to work together, we will act as true partners in your healing journey. I use evidence-based approaches that help us understand how your thoughts, feelings, and body are connected, and we will work together to build practical tools that fit your life. I bring a warm, culturally responsive lens to every session, and it is important to me that you always feel heard, respected, and never judged. Whether we work in English or Spanish, my commitment to you remains the same.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, judgment-free space where the goal is simply to get to know you. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, what your life looks like right now, and what you are hoping to feel or experience differently. I will ask questions to better understand your background, your strengths, and the challenges you are facing. By the end of our first session, we will begin to identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you. My priority is that you leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the work ahead.
