Great to meet you!

I'm Lizvet, a bilingual (English/Spanish) therapist working with adults and young adults across California via telehealth. I specialize in anxiety, depression, family stress, and the emotional complexity that can come with new motherhood.

I understand firsthand how cultural expectations — the pressure to be strong, not to complain, to put everyone else first — can quietly wear you down over time. My practice is a place where you don't have to translate your experience to be understood.

I use Clinical Art Therapy alongside talk therapy, which means we may use creative expression as a tool for insight and healing. No artistic experience or skill is required. Art has a way of accessing the parts of us that words sometimes can't reach.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, curious, and collaborative. I don't believe therapy is about giving advice or telling you how to live — it's about creating space for you to understand yourself more clearly, process what's been weighing on you, and move forward with more confidence and groundedness.

I draw on art therapy, psychodynamic principles, and culturally informed practice. For clients navigating maternal mental health challenges — postpartum anxiety, the identity shift of new motherhood, or the isolation that often comes with it — I approach that work with particular care. The story we're told about motherhood rarely matches the reality, and you deserve space to name that.

What you can expect from me

Expect a conversation, not an interrogation. In our first session, I'll ask you to share what's been going on — in your own words, at your own pace. I want to understand what brought you to therapy and what you're hoping to feel differently about.

We'll begin building trust, and I'll answer any questions you have about my approach — including how art therapy actually works and what it might look like in our sessions. You don't need to have anything figured out before we meet. That's exactly what therapy is for.
