Great to meet you!

Some losses change everything.

When you’ve experienced the loss of a child, or another profound grief that reshapes how you see yourself and the world, life can feel divided into “before” and “after.” In these moments, even simple daily tasks can feel overwhelming, and it may seem like very few people truly understand the depth of what you’re carrying.

I’m Lois, a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in supporting women through grief, especially the deep and complex grief that follows the loss of a child, as well as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and major life transitions. My work is rooted in walking alongside clients through some of the most painful and disorienting experiences life can bring.

You don’t have to carry this alone, and you don’t have to have the words for what you’re feeling in order to begin.

My approach to therapy

I offer a warm, unhurried, and compassionate space where your grief is honored—not rushed, minimized, or “fixed.”

My approach is both clinically grounded and deeply human. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed care, while always centering your lived experience and emotional needs.

Because grief—especially profound grief—is not something to “get over,” our work together focuses on helping you learn how to live with loss in a way that allows space for both remembrance and healing. For clients who desire it, I also offer a Christ-centered approach to counseling, where faith can be a source of meaning, comfort, and connection during the healing process.

There is no pressure in our work to move faster than you are ready for.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will gently begin where you are. You do not need to prepare anything or know exactly what to say. Many clients come to therapy feeling emotionally overwhelmed, numb, exhausted, or unsure how to describe what they are experiencing.

Together, we will begin to make space for your story—at a pace that feels safe for you.

Over time, clients often find that while grief does not disappear, it becomes more bearable to carry. Many begin to reconnect with daily life, rediscover moments of meaning, and feel less alone in their experience of loss. Therapy can become a place where your grief is witnessed, honored, and supported with care.

If you are walking through the loss of a child, grieving deeply, or struggling to find your footing after a life-altering experience, I would be honored to support you. Healing after profound loss is not about moving on—it’s about learning how to carry love and grief together in a way that allows you to keep living.
