Great to meet you!

My name is Li Drummond and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Addictions Counselor(CADC) in the State of Illinois. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1990 and earned my Master of Social Work degree (M.S.W.) from Loyola University in 1992. I have over 35 years of Clinical Experience. I also serve on various Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access National committees. I am committed to practicing Cultural Humility in Clinical practice.

My 35 year professional experience has focused on working with adults and special populations such as Veterans, Substance Use Disorders, Mental Health, Homelessness, Women and Children, Subsidized Housing, and Child Welfare. In this time I have worked as a Clinical Consultant providing Supervision and oversight, Quality improvement Specialist, and Subject Matter Expert

My approach to therapy

. My focus has been to stabilize clients while in crisis and help them develop coping strategies during their time. They are able to resume a better quality of life with their love ones by using learned skills to manage what life brings in a healthy, positive and productive manner. There are various challenges during our life cycle stages that include adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, thoughts of suicide, stress, loss, trauma, struggles with drugs and alcohol combined with dysfunctional interpersonal skills. I feel comfortable working with adults, and the Special Populations described as well as being a Consultant and Subject Matter Expert to help you grow and develop your organization and staff.

What you can expect from me

As a licensed clinical social worker, clients can expect their first session with me to be a supportive and collaborative experience. During our initial meeting, I focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can openly share your concerns. Together, we’ll explore your reasons for seeking support, discuss your goals, and begin to develop a plan tailored to your unique needs. My aim is to ensure you feel heard and understood, and to help you leave the session with a sense of hope and direction for the path ahead.
