Great to meet you!

Hello! Thank you for taking a moment to learn about myself and my practice. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and I am passionate about helping people to find a little more peace in their lives. My experience as a therapist began with working in a behavioral health inpatient facility and as such I have worked with treating a wide variety of disorders. In my private practice I have continued to work with a variety of issues with a heavy focus on PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse. In addition I have been teaching a psychopathology class at the University of South Carolina Aiken for 12 years. I also supervise graduate students who are seeking their Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, and provide supervision services for clinicians seeking their state licensure. I love to use my experience to help those in need. I would love to join you on your journey!

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy sessions with a sense of curiosity. I seek to build a foundation of trust with clients, to provide a space of safety with no judgement. I work to utilize scientifically grounded techniques/protocols to help remove the barriers to personal growth in my clients lives. I believe that the therapy process is a collaborative one where I work with the client to increase their overall life satisfaction.

What you can expect from me

The first session is crucial as it is our first chance to get to know each other. My main focus in a first session is to understand as much as I can about my client; their cares, concerns, and their goals for therapy. I place a high value on building relationship in the first session. In addition I also seek to collaboratively begin the process of defining a meaningful treatment plan.
