Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Loren Ecker, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Relational Life Therapist based in Queens, NY. I specialize in working with individuals and couples who are seeking deeper connection, greater clarity, and meaningful change in their relationships and emotional lives.

My approach is warm, honest, and practical. I draw from evidence-based methods like Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care to help clients identify stuck patterns, heal underlying wounds, and develop new ways of relating—to themselves and to others.

I’ve worked with thousands of clients over the years, helping people navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, complex trauma, and life transitions. In couples work, I focus on fostering accountability, emotional safety, and genuine intimacy, even when communication has broken down or trust feels lost.

I earned my undergraduate degree from New York University and my Master’s in Social Work from Adelphi University. I’ve also completed advanced training in RLT, attachment-based therapy, and recovery from compulsive behaviors. Whether you’re coming to therapy as an individual or as part of a couple, my goal is to meet you where you are—with respect, insight, and tools that actually help.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is active, collaborative, and deeply respectful. I don’t just sit back and nod—I engage with you in a direct, supportive way that aims to create real, lasting change. Whether I’m working with an individual or a couple, my goal is to help uncover the deeper patterns that keep you stuck, while also equipping you with practical tools to move forward.

I specialize in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), which focuses on helping people show up with more honesty, accountability, and vulnerability in their relationships. This approach is especially powerful for couples looking to break cycles of conflict or emotional disconnection. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and attachment theory to support clients struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or the lingering effects of past trauma.

Therapy with me is a space where you’ll be challenged and supported in equal measure. We’ll look at both the “why” and the “how”—why certain patterns exist and how to shift them in real time. Above all, I aim to help you feel seen, empowered, and capable of creating a life and relationships that feel more connected, meaningful, and true to who you really are.

What you can expect from me

Clients often tell me that our sessions feel both grounding and eye-opening. You can expect to leave each session with greater clarity, practical insight, and concrete tools to help you navigate whatever challenges you’re facing—whether it's in your relationships, your emotional life, or your inner world.

My goal is to create a space that feels safe, honest, and deeply respectful—where you can speak freely, feel understood, and also be gently challenged to grow. I’ll help you identify unhelpful patterns, uncover the deeper stories beneath them, and develop new ways of thinking, communicating, and showing up—for yourself and for others.

In couples therapy, you can expect to gain a clearer understanding of each other’s wounds and needs, learn healthier ways to communicate, and rebuild trust and intimacy. In individual work, you’ll build greater self-awareness, confidence, and emotional resilience, so you can live with more purpose and connection.

Above all, I want you to feel empowered—not just in therapy, but in your everyday life.
