Great to meet you!

Note: At this time, I am no longer accepting couples inquiries. Currently, I am looking to fill my caseload with clients dealing with life stressor, transitions, college students, post college, relationship issues, identity issues and boundary setting. (Trauma caseload is full).

Hi! I'm Loren, the owner of Woven Self Therapeutic Services, LLC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of NJ who has been practicing since 2013, first as an intern, then an LAC before being professionally licensed. I didn’t originally set out to become a therapist. I began my academic path in art education, drawn to creativity, expression and emotions. My first semester of college I took an introductory for psychology class and something clicked. Learning about the brain, behavior, and the "why" behind how we feel and act felt endlessly fascinating, and it changed my path.

Anxiety has been part of my own life since childhood, so I understand firsthand how overwhelming it can be to move through the world while your nervous system feels constantly on high alert. That lived experience, combined with my training, shaped a deep desire to help others feel more grounded, understood, and less alone in their experiences. I've worked in various populations, and found my niche working with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions (college, moving out, new job), stress, family issues, setting boundaries and empowerment and how the lasting impact of difficult life experiences can alter your mindset.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and in Internal Family Systems (IFS), using both models for my work, alongside The Gottman Method and EFT for couples, but really pull from the work of Teri Cole and Esther Perel. I don't believe one modality fits all when it comes to therapy, and truly believe building trust in the relationship is the most impactful part of therapy.

My approach to therapy

If you find yourself questioning your thoughts, your experiences or why the same themes happen over and over, I may be the one to help you untangle that web. With over a decade of experience as a therapist, I support individuals and couples in understanding patterns that impact their relationships, emotions, and sense of self. My work is rooted in helping clients feel seen, understood, and better equipped to navigate challenges with clarity and confidence. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in their thoughts, or unsure why things feel so hard. I'm here to help people make sense of their emotional patterns, develop practical coping tools, and feel more grounded in daily life. I want you to feel seen and heard, and develop a relationship that feels safe.

What you can expect from me

My approach is person-centered and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when clients are met with curiosity, compassion, and respect for their autonomy. You as the client get to set the pace as we move forward in a way that feels safe and manageable, never rushed or forced. My role is to offer guidance, insight, and support while creating a space where all parts of you are welcome. Choosing a therapist can be a daunting task with so many options and ways to practice therapy. I'm not set on one way to run sessions, unless there are certain issues that need structure. The important thing is that you, the client, feel as though you feel the work is creating positive results and you feel comfortable with me! For more information visit wovenself.com!
