Lorena Del Toro

Hi Everyone, I'm Lorena, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Texas, and I provide medication management and supportive psychiatric care for adults. I was raised in a Mexican American household, and I value culturally sensitive care that respects family dynamics, identity, and lived experience. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, postpartum depression or anxiety, schizophrenia, and life stressors such as grief and family conflict. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and not judged.

My approach is collaborative, down-to-earth, and culturally aware. I take time to understand each person’s background, environment, and personal values because these often shape mental health and treatment outcomes. I combine medication management with education and supportive strategies so clients feel informed and involved in their care. I am respectful of YOUR choice to use medication or decline, fear not, I understand. I also consider medical and cultural factors that may influence symptoms, and I aim to meet people where they are in a practical and respectful way.

In the first session, clients can expect a relaxed and open conversation where we go over symptoms, history, and what has or hasn’t worked in the past. I take a holistic approach and consider both emotional and medical contributors to symptoms before building a plan together. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and with a clear understanding of next steps. I know how nerve wracking it can be to establish care, I've been on your end and I can assure you I am here for you every step of the way!
