Great to meet you!

Living in survival mode is exhausting.

When you've experienced trauma or spent months—or even years—living with anxiety or depression, it can feel like your mind never gets a chance to rest. You may constantly expect the worst, feel emotionally drained, or wonder why it's so hard to move forward even when you're trying your best. The good news is that healing is possible, and you don't have to do it alone.

I'm Lorena, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, and depression. I specialize in EMDR therapy, an evidence-based approach that helps the brain process difficult experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional weight. Whether you're healing from a single traumatic event or years of overwhelming experiences, my goal is to help you move beyond survival mode and rediscover a sense of peace, confidence, and hope.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should help you understand why you're feeling the way you do—not just teach you how to cope with it.

Together, we'll create a treatment plan that's tailored to your unique story, your strengths, and your goals. While EMDR is a cornerstone of my practice, I also integrate other evidence-based approaches to help you build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional resilience, and create lasting change. Every session is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that healing happens when you feel safe enough to process your experiences at your own pace.

Whether I'm working with a child learning to manage overwhelming emotions or an adult healing from trauma, my goal is always the same: to help you feel safer, more empowered, and more connected to the life you want to live.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you've been carrying so much on your own.

From our first session, you'll find a supportive, judgment-free space where your experiences are honored and your goals guide our work together. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you not only find relief from the symptoms you're experiencing, but also develop a deeper sense of confidence, resilience, and trust in yourself.

Healing doesn't mean forgetting your past—it means it no longer gets to define your future
