My approach to therapy

Lori uses a client-centered approach to patient care and matching patients to techniques tailored to meet their unique needs.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental space where we focus on getting to know one another. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, and any goals you may have for treatment. I may ask questions about your personal history, relationships, work or school, and overall wellbeing to better understand your experiences.

The first appointment is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about the therapy process and determine whether you feel comfortable working together. By the end of the session, we will typically discuss possible treatment approaches and next steps to support your goals.

The goal of the first session is not to solve everything immediately, but to begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship and create a plan for moving forward.
