Great to meet you!

I earned my Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and have been a licensed therapist since 2011. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults and families facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, and emotional difficulties.

Feeling heard, understood and accepted creates the foundation for meaningful growth and lasting change. My goal is to provide a compassionate, supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore difficult experiences while also being challenged to move toward the life they want. We all face struggles at times, and I consider it a privilege to assist others in navigating those difficulties. Personal experiences with raising 7 children, adoption, unexpected life changes, divorce and a bedrock faith have given me firsthand experience in surviving life's challenges.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be both supportive and productive. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge faulty underlying beliefs and develop healthier ways of thinking that align with their values and goals. I also draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to meet individual client needs and help clients gain insight, build practical coping skills, and create lasting change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I will spend time learning about what brought you to therapy, your pertinent history, current concerns, and the goals you hope to achieve. It is also a chance for you to ask questions and determine whether we're a good fit. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we'll create a plan that is tailored to your unique needs and strengths.
