Great to meet you!

I offer a compassionate and safe place to review what matters most in order to promote your strength in healing with optimism. I believe people have the innate ability to adapt to challenging circumstances with authentic acceptance, support and guidance. I have served Veterans/families as a social work clinician for 28 years. I have observed human growth, resilience, persistence, and how holding hope and gratitude factors into healing mindset. My perspective is seasoned and well rounded.

I specialize in individual, couples, family psychotherapy using strengths based, whole health, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance commitment approaches to address anxiety, grief, depression, and stress related to adjustment to life transitions/phases. I am knowledgeable about chronic conditions, aging, disability and community resources to support the process of aging in place.

My approach to therapy

I utilize active listening, validation with empathy, reflect back to support the process of sharing to build perspective. I offer compassion. and provide education as active support. I actively model and teach coping skills and share a variety of tools to review in between sessions to build experience. I explore meaning to pinpoint strengths and values while, highlighting capabilities.

What you can expect from me

I offer a warm and friendly session sharing a bit about what to expect with the hope to build trust and rapport. I will answer questions, develop my understanding of what matters most for focus, and engage in review of the past, the current biggest struggles to encourage sharing goals. We will set goals in each session with the plan to move through the process.
