Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Lori Dickson, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 17 years of experience in behavioral healthcare. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, bipolar disorder, grief, and other mental health concerns. Having worked with patients ranging in age from 3 to 102 across hospitals, outpatient clinics, long-term care, hospice, and correctional settings, I understand that treatment must be individualized. My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic, with a focus on helping you feel heard while developing a treatment plan that supports meaningful and lasting improvement.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized, recognizing that no two people experience mental health concerns in the same way. I take time to understand your symptoms, life experiences, relationships, physical health, and personal goals before recommending treatment. Depending on your needs, care may include psychotherapy, medication management, or a thoughtful combination of both. Together, we will develop a practical, evidence-based treatment plan that helps you feel heard, supported, and actively involved in every decision.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free conversation focused on what brought you to care and what you hope to accomplish. We will review your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, relationships, daily functioning, and any previous treatment experiences. I will answer your questions and discuss whether therapy, medication, lifestyle changes, or a combination of approaches may be most helpful. Together, we will create an individualized treatment plan that feels realistic, comfortable, and aligned with your goals.
